Happy New Year! We’re excited to announce dates for Winter 2023 Workshops! As always, basic workshops are free for all members.

Get to know the candidates for Avon Town Council on Oct. 3 during a live streaming and in-person forum hosted by High Five Access Media and Vail Valley Partnership.

Join High Five Access Media on July 4 for live coverage of the Vail America Days Parade. High Five begins live coverage from Lionshead at 10:45 a.m. when the parade is estimated to roll through town. Play-by-play coverage will be provided by local personality Tony Mauro.

High Five Access Media is excited to announce its summer workshop schedule, with new offerings, including a smart device workshop using phones, plus an advanced camera class using DSLRs.

Once participants have completed a workshop with High Five, they gain access to professional video equipment that is available to checkout for free to create video and share unique points-of-view with the community on local cable TV, the internet and social media.

Driving comes with its share of distractions. Local youth want the community to know about the repercussions of distracted and impaired driving. A group of high school students combined their talents and perspectives to create a safe-driving video public service announcement (PSA), the culmination of a months-long camp for youth spearheaded by Mountain Youth and High Five Access Media.

Vail’s Sustainable Landscape Series, produced by High Five Access Media, took first place in the Informational Talk Show Series category in the 2022 Hometown Media Awards from the Alliance for Community Media Foundation.

High Five Access Media is working with local libraries in February and March to bring you our free basic workshops at convenient locations in Avon and Vail.

These workshops teach you the fundamentals of video cameras and computer editing. Lay the foundation for a career in a related field, or get free access to professional video equipment to start making television to share with your friends, family and neighbors on High Five Access Media and social media. Library patrons and Eagle County residents and employees are welcome to attend.

Husky home varsity football games return to the small screen this fall with live coverage on High Five Access Media. The action begins Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. when the Dawgs battle Front Range opponent the Lutheran Lions. There are several ways to watch, including local cable Channel 5, highfivemedia.org, Apple TV and Roku.

Gain the skills to express your voice through video and become active in the community. Join High Five Access Media on Aug. 17 and 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. for free media education workshops.

Community Producer Austin Richardson relishes the opportunity to tell the stories of local clergy’s enlightenment through his show, Focus on Faith.

“Everyone has a story to tell, my goal is to give those tales wings” Austin said. “It takes a couple flaps to get off the ground, but those springy legs make all the difference. Once in flight, the soaring and swooping can begin.”
