High Five Access Media will simulcast Plymouth Area Community Television’s “Give Hope Telethon” on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. on local cable Channel 5 and on the web at Live on Five.

The Give Hope Telethon benefits people affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Can’t make it to the Vail America Days Parade? Want out-of-town family to check out your float? High Five Access Media has you covered.

We’ll be live from Lionshead with hosts Holly Trickel and Gabe Hogan with a short preshow from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m., when the parade is expected to reach Lionshead. At that point, we’ll toss our play-by-play coverage over to local radio voice Tony Mauro.

Viewers may watch live on local cable HFAM Channel 5 or Live on Five on the web at www.highfivemedia.org. Subsequent replays will air on cable and the web and also will be available on demand on our website. 

The Alliance for Community Media, which represents 3,000 public, educational and governmental (PEG) access stations, awarded High Five Access Media’s J.K. Perry best documentary for production of “Heart of Vail.”

High Five Access Media worked with the Eagle River Watershed Council to create “Heart of Vail,” which seeks to educate Vail residents, streamside property owners, and government officials of the peril the creek faces because of pollution, and persuade the community to do its part to clean Gore Creek. Funding for production was granted by the Forrest and Frances Lattner Foundation.

Folk rock group Many Mountains joins The Community Project on May 26, live from the Avon Public Library. In this episode, which airs live from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on cable Channel 5 and Live on Five, we've got The Haps for June, a discussion of summer library programs, an interview with the Freddy Jones Band and and a showcase of the artist gallery in the Avon Public Library. The community is welcome to attend, enjoy the show, and learn more about High Five Access Media and the library.

The latest episode of The Community Project drops live March 17 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. In this episode, local band The Platonics perform live in Studio 203 at the High Five Access Media Center. We've also got The Haps for March, a history of Vail's Great Race, Neat News with Max America and DJ Scratch 'n' Sniff, and more! We accomplished much in 2016. Among many other successes, High Five Access Media launched a new name and community outreach effort that includes a new website. Our work is not done. We've plans to improve your experience with High Five Access Media in the coming year, and beyond. Stay tuned!
