Our Voice, Our Community - Why Net Neutrality Matters
In case you missed it while you were gearing up for the holidays last year, the Federal Communications Commission voted to end net neutrality rules. Net neutrality is the idea that internet services providers (ISPs) treat all web traffic and activity equally without blocking, throttling, or creating “lanes” that are faster and more expensive, i.e. paid prioritization. Take Your Video to the Next Level
High Five Access Media offers free video production training so you can learn to make media and express your ideas with the community on television and the internet. But what happens after you've completed a workshop? Oftentimes, you're feeling overwhelmed and uncomfortable with the video-making process. The key to getting better is practice, and tutorials offer a great way to gain experience at your own pace. Fortunately, the Eagle Valley Library District makes access to tutorials simple, and free. The library provides cardholders with a subscription to Lynda.com. For those of you unfamiliar with Lynda, it's a website focused on providing users with video tutorials on a variety of subjects, including "business, software, technology and creative skills," according to the site.

Can’t make it to the Vail America Days Parade? Want out-of-town family to check out your float? High Five Access Media has you covered.
We’ll be live from Lionshead with hosts Holly Trickel and Gabe Hogan with a short preshow from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m., when the parade is expected to reach Lionshead. At that point, we’ll toss our play-by-play coverage over to local radio voice Tony Mauro.

"heart of vail" wins best documentary
The Alliance for Community Media, which represents 3,000 public, educational and governmental (PEG) access stations, awarded High Five Access Media’s J.K. Perry best documentary for production of “Heart of Vail.”
High Five Access Media worked with the Eagle River Watershed Council to create “Heart of Vail,” which seeks to educate Vail residents, streamside property owners, and government officials of the peril the creek faces because of pollution, and persuade the community to do its part to clean Gore Creek. Funding for production was granted by the Forrest and Frances Lattner Foundation.
