Husky shooting guard getting defensive
A sophomore starter bringing defensive skills to a senior-led offensive team, Beau Suman has made a remarkable impact on the Battle Mountain High School Boys’ Basketball Team.
Suman is a shooting guard and has been a starter for both his freshman and sophomore years. He has been playing basketball for as long as he can remember. His dad is the reason he loves the sport.
“My dad pushed me to play basketball and then it became my passion,” he said.

High Five Youth Film Camp 2024
High Five Film Camp is back, and we’re stoked. Our students from last year’s iteration are continuing to grow as video producers, and we’re so proud of all of them! We wanted to take a moment to highlight one student, Gabriella Gallegos.
Gabby signed up for our Film Camp last summer not knowing exactly what to expect from the video production field. Her experience in Speech & Debate at Battle Mountain High School helped her realize she was interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism, but wasn’t sure what the experience would look like.

Fall Workshops Now Open!
For those who don’t have experience in videography, we offer educational workshops to learn the basics of camera operations and video editing, which begin in September. Aspiring filmmakers – or anyone who wants to learn – can sign up for annual membership and an Orientation session to get started. No prior experience is required.
As a nonprofit community access media center, we believe that everyone has the right to free speech and self-expression. We provide you with the tools you need to tell your story. We also provide personalized mentorship and equipment reservations: just tell us what you’re interested in learning, and we’ll find a way to make it happen.

High Five Youth Film Camp 2023
Calling all aspiring teen filmmakers! We’re hosting a week-long film summer camp for creative-thinking students to learn the art of filmmaking, including writing, shooting and editing.
Students aged 14 through 2023 graduates are welcome to apply. No prior experience in filmmaking is required. All applicants need is a willingness to learn and a love of movies or TV.
