The Reading Rocket
This summer, the Eagle Valley Library District hosted 308 hours of programming beneath the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) theme "A Universe of Stories". As part of the summer program, CSLP hosts a yearly Teen Video Challenge for teens to showcase their creativity, celebrate reading, and get involved with their public libraries. This year, local teen Emi Otsuki, in partnership with her brother Kai, took it upon herself to create an original entry for the contest. On her own time, Emi created the concept, directed Kai, shot and edited the video in the Avon Public Library, and even wrote an original song (sung by John McKay). Their video is titled "The Reading Rocket" and is available to view on YouTube. "The Reading Rocket" is one of the 4 national contest winners for 2019 and Emi received a cash prize. Congratulations to Emi and Kai! We are so proud of your accomplishment, and EVLD would like to thank you for featuring us in your video.
