avon town council candidate forum
High Five Access Media announces a public forum featuring candidates for the 2016 Avon Town Council election.
The campaign season is expected to be lively with five candidates on the ballot to fill three slots. The event takes place Oct. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Avon Town Council chambers at 1 Lake Street, Avon, Colorado. The forum will offer an opportunity for the Avon electorate to evaluate candidates in a side-by-side forum. Each candidate will have equal time to answer questions on a variety of topics, which will be presented by moderator Brian Sipes.
The public is welcome to submit questions for the forum in advance. Please email your questions to avonforum2016@highfivemedia.org by Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.
High Five Access Media’s live video coverage will begin at 7 p.m. on Comcast Channel 5 and on the internet on Live on Five at www.highfivemedia.org. Video of the event subsequently will be available on the High Five Access Media website.
Topics will include the candidates’ visions for the future, how the town can strengthen its relationship with Avon businesses, neighboring communities, and how it can engage with Eagle County and valley organizations.
Elections take place Tuesday, Nov. 8. Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters on Oct. 17 and may be returned by mail or dropped off at the Avon Center Building. In-person voting is also available at the Avon Center Building. For polling locations, dates and hours, visit www.eaglecounty.us.
